As my partner won't allow me to put my tank in the living room, I'm placing it in our spare room and so can decorate it however I like. I've decided to go girly with pinks, purples and whites.

Could anybody recommend the best places to take a look for fake plants etc for this? I have some white pebbles and a pink castle that I've picked up today, however, the few stores that sell aquarium supplies in my town have a very small range and only really have green plants.

It is a 36 litre tank that I have and some examples of the styling I like can be found here:

Check out EBay. There was a member on here that had glitter pebbles. Really cool!

Are the shells in the tank, real or fake?
If they are real, they could push the pH of your water up.

There's also a lot of stuff in those tanks. Unless you have an undergravel filter, or want live plants, you don't need that much substrate. Less substrate would give you more water in the tank, which is better for any fish.

The large rocks in there will trap debris and gunk, which could contribute to poor water quality. Make sure you gravel clean under them regularly to keep everything clean.

The tank should have a picture on the back to help the fish feel more secure. You can use coloured card, plastic bin liner or buy a picture form the pet shop or online. Just sticky tape it to the outside on the back of the tank.

The examples shown are biorb products so google their stockists and you will be able to order them on line. The company used to be called Reef One, now it is Oase. EBay and amazon have some of their stuff, if you are in the UK completeaquatics have a good range.
