all over its a pretty good tank...all for one thing...the filter is #### its so noisy and i reccomend you buy a small fluval as a replacement but apart ffrom that its ok
 
my mate has on with a newt, bu i wouldnt put WCMM's because they need to be in groups of 6 as they are from the cyprinid family which are predominantly shoaling species. and there wont be enough space for them, if you went for a 35litre arc tank then i would say youd be good with a group of 8 and some shrimps.

i would use a heater as temperaature fluctuations iin my opinion does <b>no</b> fish any favours
 
I like these tanks as do several of the scapers on my other forum. They use the Eden501 (or the copy) external filter on them which has 10mm tubing like these:

I would however go for the 35ltr. That extra foot makes a huge difference.

Lighting is a poor point though. Although the arc pod is a good light you will need 2 or 3 to get good enough light for a planted Nano. This is a problem with most tanks though so we nearly always have to upgrade a little.
