Looks good to me :good: Of course another option is to remove the centre brace, order a second, and then place the old centre brace and the new one, in between the centre lamp and the two end ones ;)

Well, to answer your question, yes and no... Without going into the physics of it (cause that would take a long time) you will loose some light by raising the lights up, maybe 5-10% but you will increase the high-power area of light, allowing you to cover the edges of the tank better. Also remember, at some point you'll need to work in the tank with your hands and having a lighting fixture whose protective glass is multiple hundreds of degrees a mere inch from your arm is asking for a burn ;) Trust me, I've had plenty :(

Also, sorry I forgot to mention this before, but you can replace the center brace with clear acrylic fairly easily if the shadow does cast too much light.
