Hi there, I'm new to this forum but I'd just like to know what various people think the best fish is (tropical fish!)
Please say what fish you like and why, if there are a few, you can put those down too!
My partner likes Plecos best. He says he had one called Albert and he was very funny! He used to act more like a dog
that a fish!!!

We are planning to take up fish keeping as a hobby as we both like them, and I love reading about the different
types of fish etc. We had bought a fish tank from ebay, but got home to find it was scratched, which im very dissapointed about!
You dont notice it until you fill it up with water so you can imagine my dissapointment! So I've got my eye on a 4" fish tank,
and another 3" fish tank - hopefully all goes well!!
Anyway, what fish is your favourite and why???!!! :good:

hi
i've go two tanks,one has guppys,gouramis,plattys.
the other has Barbs, corydora catfish, and clown loaches.
i like them all,for their personality, especially my barbs.

For a scratched tank you can apply a chemical that people us to reduce the appearence of a scratch on their glasses. It works quite well I'm told. Ask for it at any large department store.

Depending on how large you intend to go with the aquarium, there are dozens of possibilities. To start with though, there are the usual Guppies, Mollies, Platies, Bettas, African Rift Cichlids and New World Cichlids.

My personal favorite fish at the moment are Bristlenose Plecs (and plecs in general) although that changes all the time. :p I also keep Cories (sterbai, panda, trileatus) and several other fish.

ephiedoodle, I like the clown loaches too!! Ive read they have "eye stabbers" near both eyes!!
has anyone ever seen that happen or been "stabbed"

Nope, but they can get caught in nets so make sure whoever does the netting or if you do it, are careful to not catch the eye thorns in the net. Mine are getting quite big now so I might be resorting to a plastic strainer or something like that to catch mine if and when they need to be moved.
