Best Fish To Cycle Tank Out Of Mine......

I have 1 angelfish 4 platies 4 kuhlii loaches 2 albino cory cats and 2 blue rams.....whats the best to start the cycle in my tank and what should I leave till last


(side question) I put the rams into my stand by tank with the other fish the larger one is fin nipping all but the albino cory and the loaches could this be just because of stress or a bad disposition?

If you take all the media out of the filter in the 10g and put it in the filter in the 30g, then you can put all the fish in the 30g at once.

And they both use interchangeable media. But if for some strange reason you can't do that, just put the filter from the 10g on the 30g, and let the two filters run together for a few weeks.

yep and the kuli's are probably the best to let in the tank first as for loaches are not very sensitive to anything! lol! your angel would die if you put it in , the corries might be ok, and i'm not sure about paliaties or rams...... hope this helps!

most filters will alow other kind of media to be used, best of thes filters is the rekord box thing though it is pretyy ugly

if the filters don't have inter changable midia simply place them in the tank in a nylon, having them hanging in there will still present enough nitrifing bacteria, it dosen't really matter where it is at this stage, it will still do it's job, then in a wek or two it will have started to grow in your new filter and your good to go.
