What fish would you say is hardy or long living. for me i would say my 2 glowlight tetras and 2 amano shrimps. none even now have had one die and the glowlights are really active/ sporty :)

betta fish, and most types of plecos, and danios, guppies, mollies, platys, and some tetras and more

Plecos, especially gibbiceps are known to be long living and very hardy fish. They can tolerate a lot

Ditto, I have had some rescued from awful conditions and they pull through.

Oscars and catfish last a long time for me.

Guppies have been the worst for me, but mine were quite big when I got them and most only live to 2-3 years if I remember rightly anyway. Also, I have soft water which can't have helped.

Never had any real troubles with my cardinal tetra or trili cories though.

When i first saw oscar fish i was dieing to get it when i get a bigger tank but now looking into fish me and my dad would say to get small fish like neons, corys and other fish/ inverts that shoal or arnt non aggresive

Tetras are great too!

Thats a long time i heard that my goldfish got eaten by a stork in my grandads pond before i started to get tropical fish the biggest one was 8 years old :(

kio can be i think the oldest recorded was 200 years old?but the average life is about 25-35 years

I found that most SA cichlids (green terrors, jack dempseys) can survive a lot, and will even breed in bad condiditon to survive.\

What tank are you using for said hardy fish?

I don't think I've kept fish long enough to really know which is best for me. My neon tetras are doing well (except the two that seemed to have had NTD). One of my female guppies has been with me the longest (just shy of 4 inches in length) and I saved one of her first daughters who seems to have inherited the same health and size (or getting there in size).

Male guppies have been very difficult for me and for that reason I am planning to rehome then and house something else in their tank. Will keep my female guppies, though, as I quite enjoy them and they seem to be hardy.
