Best Filter For Breeding My Shrimp

Hi all!

I purchased a 10 gal kit and plan to breed Red Cherry Shrimp. The filter that came with my 10 gallon setup worked for 2 days before it burned up. So, now I need to purchase a new one. What type would be best for breeding shrimp? I realized I need to cover the intake with nylon and that it still needs to complete it's bio cycle.
