okay I know that bert is kind of stressed out latley with the heater on the fritz but got that fixed and pow he is back to normal. now I noticed that he has cleared two shallow pits in the gravel about the length of his body. is this yet another sign that he wants a mrs bert with him.
heres the plan right now though. we (me and my fieace(sorry about the spelling) have convinced the family that we want a 72 gallon bow front for a wedding gift) and since we are redoing the house we are going to put it in her office up stairs with my electric yellows and my A.Maisoni, and then move bert into the 55 gallon down stairs and get him a mrs bert.

'bout time you got the hint

that quote is from bert, lol he had a few other choice words about the heat.

congrats on the "BIG DATE"(getting married)and the future 72g,i was this[ ]close to getting one myself,i may still get it,it's an awsome looking tank.i'm sure bert will love the 55g.

yeah I could hear those words myself when I was putting his new heater in...... can't tell you exactly what was said but I think that I got him calm enough that he isn't going to say that too much although it is his fault that the heater was on the fritz in the first place. he got a little too bossy and was chasing terry my bigger pelc and crashed head first into it. and that isn't the first time he has done that. should have been in my room the first two nights that I had him when there were guppies in the tank

lol yeah he told me he wasn't sure if you understood what he said(he has an accent)(sp?)

although it is his fault that the heater was on the fritz in the first place.

he said the pleco was teasing him :D

our fish can do no wrong my friend, they'r always right.

that is true. they can do no wrong. I love Bert he is the best way better than the pirhanas that I had but still miss them too. I can't wait to get my 72 gal. bow front. been saving my pennies for many months and hope to have it soon wht the help of the family.

Here is a little tip Juan for protecting your heater from the ravages of pis*ed off fish....

Get a length of plastic pipe (pvc) long enough so the heater fits inside of completely. Then drill small holes throughout the pipe.

Then simply place your heater in the pipe and no more problems. This works very well!!!!!

you know CM I never even thought of that. that is possibly the best idea that I have heard.. in fact I bet I can get some from work won't be top quality but I am betting it'll still do the job.

I was able to get a peice of .5 inch pvc and it is about .25 inches thick. would that do?

Actually I think 1/2 inch would be rather narrow. I would go with at least 1". You want to make sure there is enough room in the pipe for the water to circulate!!

I know this is kind of a waste, but a full piece of 1" should only be $3 or so at home depot. I know you will have a lot left over, but I can give you many aquarium uses for it....BELIEVE ME!!!

yeah and when you work for a landscaping company putting in sprinkler systems during the summer you can get it for even cheaper. why spend when you can take.
