Thats not neccesarily true, the betta you bought must've been really stressed and caught whatever killed him. I buy my fish from Petsmart and the only time that they died was when a disease came into the tank. You just have to check the fish out before buying it. Im also sorry about Berrylime at least he/she is in a better place.

The quality of fish at chain LPS tends to vary from store to store. Many people hate petsmart but love petco, where as others hate petco but love pets mart. It really varies store to store.

Only reason why I say that about Petsmart, is because 2 weeks ago I had a betta named Simon, I only had him for 3 days and then he passed, thats when I got BerryLime. Petsmart had told me that for some reason and they didn't know why but their betta's have been dying frequently and they dont know the cause.

I really should have listened to my conscious when I got him, but his colors attracted me to him, and I took him off, I'm grateful that I could give him 14 more days.. rather than leaving him at the store and him dying the next. R.I.P BerryLime

mabye thier supplier is catching the bettas in a place where there is infection in the water.
