Fish nerd
My 100 Gal is for larger fish. I have some good sized NW Cichlids in this tank. I tried to have some schooling fish in there. They got picked off one by one. No trace of them left behind. But I was no surprise. Big fish eat little fish thats a fact.
A few weeks ago I had a 2" BN pleco in the tank she was there for a few months keeping the wood clean. Then I went to do a big WC and took everything out of the tank. I could not find her anywhere. I had 3 Pictus cats that are 10 months old I guess. Well now I only have 2 left. The other went missing no Sign any where. I was on Vacation so the tank did not get its normal care. The pictus cats had been fighting a lot so I think one killed the other then eat it. The Pictus cats are the clean up crew they will eat a good size dead fish no problem. I noticed the larger pictus tummy was bigger then it should be. 3 is the worst number when it comes to keeping same type fish. One almost always ends up dead.
I'm doing a huge wc on this tank and took everything out no sign of the missing pictus. I also have a very tight lid so no way he could jump.
I hate when a fish goes missing and I don't know what happened.
