Can you help? My angel is swimming upside down most of the time. Female, has laid eggs in the past. Feeds well, seems fine with no visible signs of illness.

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
What do you feed your fish.
Does the fish look bloated.
Once fish lay on there back for long periods they normally don't make it.

Epson salts baths and bacterial med in issolation if you want to try and save the fish.

Must admit the fish have grown and are now pretty big so there are maybe too many in the tank, but water quality is fine.
Fish is not bloated.
Feed on frozen and pro dried stuff.
Has been swimming upside down for weeks now and really doesn't look ill just silly!
We've had these fish for years, and have kept tropical fish for numerous years, this one puzzles us!

If she been like that weeks I doubt she will get better.
Is the fish still going to the toilet.
Any red streaking or patches on the fish body or fins.
I think its time to end the fish misery if I'm honest, no life for a fish on its back.

Think I agree with you but am loath to do it just yet.
She is still going to the loo, eating and doing what angels usually do.
No flukes or fin rot etc actually looks perfect.
Still happy with her partner too.
Was thinking maybe egg bound, but clutching at straws now.

Epson salt baths help when fish are egg bound, but in a bad state if she upside down all the time.
What does it look like when she goes to the toilet.

To make any sort of reasonable diagnosis we need the test results, fine to you is not fine to many other aquarists. Numbers may indicate a trend, this would point others in the right direction as to what might be wrong with your fish.
