So I want to convert my 29 gallon from plastic to live plants. My lighting is the hood that came with the tank, one 24" 17W All-Glass T8 and I have a sand substrate. What plants could I have in there and what would I need to get to improve my lighting? Also, is sand ok?
I've searched and found plenty of advice about 1,2,& 3 watts per gallon but a 24" bulb is pretty much always 17w right? Do I just have to get a new hood and put 3 lights in it or are there bulbs that will do it on their own?
