Well I just thought I'd post a picture of the 24x15x12 tank I'm goin to inherit from my mother. It's looking a little sorry for itself at the momment, but when I move at the end of this month, I hope to transform it into a SA biotope tank for a pair of rams or apistos. I'll post more pictures as it gets its make over.

Not even a plant? :(

I look forward to seeing what you can do with the tank. Every tank has potential, and some simple live plants like some vallis or african swords would look nice in there.

What kind of filtration do you have? under gravel filters arent always good enough for plants.

The filteration is UG. I'm one of the few ppl that still really like UG filteration, but not for plants. I'm going to get an eternal caister for it. I may have a few plants, but not many. plants tend not to survive in SA black water conditions, which is what i'm trying to recreate.

If I was doing an SA biotype I'd get SA puffers...but thats just me...!

Anyway, good luck. If I were you I'd probably use: Bogwood to recreate mangrove roots, the pond peat -the kinda mud for tanks and stuff- and maybe a few amazon swords or something. Anyhoo, good luck with it!
