and after

i like it much better, more sand for them to relax on. its a great spot for feeding them. the little corys love to snoop through the sand to eat the bits left over.

these next pics are feeding time so the tank looks real busy.

What size tank is that. Now I am beginning to miss having sand. Maybe I will make a small spot with sand. It to much of work, vacuum it up an put new down, to put sand over all of the whole area of a tank. What plants do you have?

its a 36 gallon....and i dont have any live plants in there...i tend to have bad luck with plants!

what i did instead of fill it all with sand is outline a little "arena" with bigger rocks and put the sand in. it keeps it seperated and is easier to clean then the whole thing being sand

Looks good, but boooooy-o-booooy is the poo gonna show up on that!

love the tank, Wont dont you try get hold of some java moss? and also add some vallis to the tank they need hardly any attention. I had vallis grow about 30inch long in my tank before now. Those albino tiger barbs are fat! Are those pygmy cories? cant really tell form the pics.I got some and there tiny! HEHE.

Ben.

hey thanks. i have java moss and ive been thinking about doing something with it. any ideas?? ive got a pretty hefty amount in my snail tank. also ive had valls in there but they seem to die. they even are dying in my high light tank. just must be my water or something? anyways, those are pygmy corys and i love them. the fat one is the female. i had 3 but one just had mouth fungus and died. i then decided to clean and rescape

are you going to do the whole tank?
definatly makes it brighter. Wont be as easy to keep the white sand clean.

I hear a lot of people have problems with valls. Have read that they need rich nutrient substrate.
If you are going to add plants, I would just stick with the java ferns. They are so easy to grow. I just add a little flourish excell for them.

Just realized you have several male cherry barbs. Do they ever fight? I was thinking of getting some but thought I had to get females first.
