I'm getting what I believe to be beard algae on the tips of my fake plants and on my ornament.   I took them out and brushed them in dechlorinated tap water to remove the algae.  Is there a way to prevent reoccurence and to rid my tank of this algae.  I do have a BN pleco and a couple of corys but they don't seem to eat the algae on the plants.   All parameters are good but I do leave the lights on (fluorescent) for about 12 hours a day.   Tank has been set up for about 2 1/2 months.

Not sure how to treat this but think reducing your lighting would help a bit? :)
