Beach stones

I know theres already a thread here about garden stones... but I'd like to know about stones from the beach.
I live in an area surrounded by beaches and I was wondering if it would be safe to use beach stones in my tank & what I would have to do to treat them (assuming they're safe). I've treated beach rocks for a vivarium (cleaning, boiling and baking) but I don't want to mess up my tank.

I'm guessing that's a saltwater beach. If so, I wouldn't use them in freshwater tanks. However, if you clean them properly there shouldn't be any problems...

Try checking for neutrality of the rocks before using them.
