BE WARNED!!

Sorry to hear about your loss :rip: The same thing happened to me when I first got into fishkeeping. I had a betta in a bowl and when I set up my community tank I thought he would be so much happier in a 27 gallon tank instead of a 1 gallon bowl. Well after only a couple of days of having him in there he killed a couple of my male guppies and I believe he chased and stressed my male swordtail to death.

I don't think he was happy in the bigger tank either he was always patroling keeping the other fish in line. I of course moved him out the same day I found the dead fish.

I'm not sure if there is anyone who has sucessfully kept a male betta in a community tank? I seem to hear the same sad story over and over :X

Thank you Elisabeth83. I have truthfully kept bettas in community tanks successfully several times over the years without problems, but I think I was just really lucky before. I knew all the dangers, but I was sure that because I had made it work before that it would work with Booker. Boy was I wrong. Hopefully, by reading this others that want them in community tanks will think twice about it. :dunno:

im sorry *hugs* you did a good job of helping him... these things happen dont beat yourself up... my mollies ate my albino cories
