Can BBA be caused by switching from liquid carbon to CO2? I halved my dosage of liquid to accommodate and want to half it again too at some point?

Ya know while I was sitting here on the forum I thought of something else that wont help, internal diffusers, every time you clean the ceramic disc it becomes more efficient, this will cause small fluctuations in levels correct?

answer to question 1. Yes it can as you have stopped using an algaecide and starting using C02 which fluctuates easily/can be low. There will be not enough C02 dispersion around the tank IMO.

2. It takes a few days of fluctuating C02/LOW C02, to cause a problem, it's won't happen overnight. By that time the ceramics have normally gone back to normal or actually gotten even worse. This is one reason i don't use ceramic disks now. as when you clean them with bleach, the ceramic holes get bigger.

Hmmm gonna up the CO2 slightly and get an inline UP jobbie. Thing is tho my DC is in the furthest place from the diffuser and it's lime all the time.

Although drop checkers do a job, the plants/fish should be you main indicators. The drop checker is only a pice of test kit at the end of the day. If youre getting bba either the C02 is low or fluctuating. Ensure you're getting good diffusion, and if you are then the C02 must be low.

Yeah I think as my diffuser is a tiny nano giving off some big bubbles I'm gonna get a decent inline atomiser.
