I am getting a 5' x 2' x 2' tank in a couple of days; unlike my Juwel it will need something under the base...I am, as with my 4', standing the tank on a 40mm thick kitchen worktop - it will otherwise overhang the cabinet upon which it will stand. I don't want unsightly white polystyrene under the base as the theme colours will be dark/black; can someone confirm that cork tiles will be OK?

You can buy black foam sheets especially for aquariums if white is a problem.

 Could you turn it down for £30?? Just hope it has glass on every side...

Now rearranging the front room to get it in...thank god there's no wifey about, can you imagine?? :grr: :grr:

Now sorted - went to B&Q, who are no longer selling polystyrene tiles/coving for health and safety reasons according to the section staff!! . Gone are the days where we are granted a little common sense..so anyway, get this; in B&Q I bought instead a roll of ceiling Decoroll decorative covering, made of...expanded polystyrene!!! . I figure that might work instead.... :dunno:

Yeah you have a point, that's cheap as dirt - lucky you! If someone was to offer me one at that price i would have to pass due to lack of space. :(

Dean.
