i took the gravel out of the new tank to change it for sand but im starting to think i like it like this
it brings the colour out of the fish,i wont need to gravel vac and it stays cleaner :)

I definitely see what you are saying... the ray's colors look great on the bare bottom.

The sound at the end of the video scared the crap out of me!

Me too, my cat (currently draped across my arm) completely ignored it though.

Cane - I like it, without the plants it might be boring, but all the fish/plant colors pop.

Out of curiosity, don't rays generally spend time sifting through sand looking for food, do you think it'll get bored?
Probably a dumb question, but IME with mbuna having sand cut down of fighting because they had somthing to do. I realize rays aren't mbuna, but I thought it might be the same concept.

Id imagine the rays probably miss having substrate to bury in but it does look pretty neat, nice.
