It was sold to me as a clown barb but I don't think it is as it's fins have red in them and they're a different shape so is the body shape and markings are different it's about 3 inches currently and all helps appreciated cheers

Thanks bae

They look like the arulius barb Puntius arulius to me.

My mum has some; the males grow the most gorgeous extensions on the dorsal fin. They do get quite big; about 6", I think, and are relatively peaceful; although like many barbs they can be nippy in smaller shoals.

Yeah mint suggested this too and the more I look I think it is

Thanks for their both ( mint was in my journal thread but still)

Next question did I get ripped off for £5 for this barb ?

Doesn't matter as I like it regardless but just wondering really

Great price mate. Were they of a decent size? Mattlee has them in with Keith and paid a fair bit more than that! Don't often see nice sized specimens. :good:

Although they do look similar to clown barbs too... :/

I think two are clowns and then it's just this guy so I got a deal on one what's the going rate on them then pretty interested now lol

I'm sure Matt told me that he found some tiddlers for about £11?! Maybe i was just dreaming though?! lol.

If that's right I got a pretty good deal then lol I'll go back there if I want to add more to the shoal in the hope they've mislabeled them again lol

Cheers for the help too
