Banana Plants

I love my banana plants....how do I get the to reproduce? If I break off a clump of "bananas", the bottom part of the plant, will it grow stalks like the mother plant? or will both pieces end up dying?

Not sure about cutting the tubers but you can safely try cut off a leaf with stalk and leave it floating in the water (in your aquarium or in a glass jar). It will hopefully grow some roots from the base of the stalk and start a new plant

I wish I could figure this one out. I have had no luck in reproduction of this plant and would love to reproduce it in my tank as it grows leafs the size of my hand!
