hello. i recently bought some banana plant for my tank. i have a marineland natural daylight f15t8 light. i was wondering if i needed any fert or co2. i have a 30g tank. the lfs says that it grows well without both co2 and fert, but i never trust them. any advice?

a Nymphoides aquatica will grow under any light, you won't need C02, you might need to give it some micro fert every week or so, what other plants you got in there?

elodea and water sprite. theyre not doing so well because they were eaten up but the fish that was eating them was given back to the store. next time im in lfs ill look for ferts. what do yo reccomend?

you have quite low light, you probably don't need to dose any macros (N and P) as the fish will be doing this for you. The plants do like some Micros evrey now and again though. Are you in the States?? if so i'd recommend for value for money alone, Seachem Flourish as a bottle should last you 6 months.

the flourish stuff was really expensive so i got some tetra florapride. there's a noticeable difference.
