I have a Juwel Rio 240 with standard lighting, no CO2 and no nutrients,although i think i will start dosing Flourish Excel and Flourish next week.
 
you can grow them in your tank but the leaves have to be above the water other than that there easy to grow
 
agree with above, i wouldant suggest this but it is possible.
 
Bamboo normally works under water, you guys might laugh i took a bamboo plant that you normally get with flowers and added that to my tank it's been in there a year doing great and given me a few cuttings...
 
monty i can assure you most species of bamboo real bamboo such as philistacyhs are not aquatic at best marginal
scot :)
