I've put large peices of driftwood into my 2 tanks and want to get rid of the colours produced. Im thinking of buying this product called 'Bamboo Carbon' to take the colours out. This is what it says;
bamboocarbonhi5.jpg

"After bamboo is smouldered to a high temperature it becomes bamboo carbon which contains triple the minerals of charcoal. Fine holes in bamboo carbon give it a strong absorption rate, purifying your water for longer. This can help remove dangerous toxins within your aquarium as well as keeping your water crystal clear."

Would it be the same as activated carbon?

1, you should have soaked it first.
2, a small strip of carbon to put in the filter is fine.
3, do 10% water changes evry day itll go soon..
4, why post in NWC?

Yes I will do water changes, I soaked the wood in hot water for about 30 mins and put it in the tanks. Sank right away. probably pre waterlogged at the lfs?

I posted in NWC because Im lazy.
