Balloon Molly Breeding...

I was just thinking of getting into breeding and wonderin whats the best combination of male to female balloon mollies. Is one of each good or is there a better combo? Also, does the tank need any special water conditions or hiding places?

how many mollies depends on how many fry you want. the standerd set up for livebarers is 1m/3f. i suggest you use a breeding trap or breeding tank because mollies will eat there young.

a breeding trap is a plastic box that hang onto the tank, right? when would i put the female in there, or should i ever put her in there at all?

hi,
i dont put any fish in breeding nets or traps anymore, to stressfull for the smallest of livebearers,
instead lots of hiding areas and floating plants, also i some times set up the net in my tank ready and often find fry hiding behind it, then i scoop em up into it, good luck with the many fry you should have comming your way , donna.
