hey, this isn't a pressing issue and I honestly don't really care, but does anyone know if balloon mollies are less prone to having breeding instincts? I've had a male balloon molly for about 14 months and last April we bought two females for him. He would chase them around now and then, but we've never had one become pregnant. He usually only chases them for a few seconds and then gets distracted and goes and does something else (lol). One of the females died about a month ago (but she always looked slightly abnormal with a huge mouth and larger eyes, so I dunno if she was defective or not), but we still have the other girl. My platies still breed every month or so, so I was wondering if this was normal behavior for balloon mollies or abnormal?
