Helow guys,

I'm new here and I'm glad to find this forum for helping other people on their problems.

anyway, i bought 2 female and 2 male balloon molies in the pet shop.

1 female gave birth to 13 fry's and i noticed that the fry's are always at the bottom of the tank resting.

is that normal? btw i placed a tank separator in my 10gal tank for the fry's.

its been 2 days since birth and 5 of them are still at the bottom of the tank.

and sometimes they squeeze their selves in the pebbles. is it okay?

i don't know if their sick or what?

please help me!

Thank you in advance!

The fry's squeeze their selves in the pebbles and sometimes they get stuck.

some fry take a little longer to build up the strength for swimming, these i find are often called 'belly crawlers', some usually get better and will start swimming about as normal, others don't and will sometimes die. just make sure they are getting enough food and the others don't eat it all.

would a breeder be better so they dont need to swim up to high to grab food?

i agree, a breeder would benefit these fry, also they won't have as far to go up for air :good:
