I want to build a 2 X 30W light canopoy using 36 inch T10 bulbs( 30 W).
What kind of ballast do i need?
(sylvania or advance) please specify what model # if you can.

thanks

I can't tel you the number right off hand, but use an Advance electronic ballast.

Once you get into this size ballast, most any of them will easily run a 30watt tube.

For kicks, you can get a ballast designed to run four bulbs, run two red and blue wires to each bulb, doubling them up essentially, and you are doing what is called overdriving. I have done this as have many others. It is quite safe and will give you around 45-50 watts output from each bulb!

Expect to pay around 17 bucks for the ballast.

nobody knows what kind of ballast (model??)
i got an email from advanced saying R-2S-P30-TP wouold be one, but then i checked their spec sheet it says for T12 bulbs (It is Magnetic type)

Glo-Mat 2 Electronic Ballast Kit-30 Watt

Canadian = $59.99
U.S. = $28.99

The fluorescent lighting control unit permits custom installation of fluorescent lighting in a variety of places. The unit controls lighting with a switch. 30 w- lights two fluorescent tubes (32 mm or 38 mm diameter)

from aquariumservices.com but if your not from Canada or the U.S. then you can't order :/
