My friend has a 150 gallon and has 3 bala sharks. He plans on adding 3-4 clown loaches as well. I know RTBS don't like any other shark-looking fish in their tank, does this apply to balas as well? Or will they get along? When they get larger, will they eat fish like neons? :dunno:

Balas are peaceful and wont bother other 'sharks'. Balas will normaly get along with clown loaches. As for whether they wille eat neons - yes they will. Being a fish that can potentialy reach 16", it isn't difficult to see why a 1" fish look like a tempting snack...

Might I ask why you are asking about whether balas are aggressive towards other sharks? Even if they aren't, you can't realy keep another shark with them because the shark will be aggressive towards the balas and balas can be rather nervous fish as keeping them in a good-sized school isn't easy and anything less just adds to their insecurity.

Since when do RTBS not get along with clown loaches? Almost any person who has both says their RTBS just pals around with their clown loaches, like mine does.

But anyway, yes they should be fine.

Nobody actually said that!!!

He implied it.

He's saying that the clown loach is sort of a shark looking fish (which is kind of is).

Well my friend wasn't planning on putting any other sharks in the tank. He was just wondering if the balas would get along with the clown loaches since the clown loaches have that shark-like body kind of. Thanks for all the help guys.
