Got 2 tiny bala sharks about 2 month ago I would say. Just wondering how fast do they grow and when will I start to notice a significant change in their size becasue as of yet they dont look any bigger.

Bala's normally grow pretty fast IME with the right size tank, feeding and water changes, reaching in some cases 14-16".

I recently had four, which I got at approx 2", were 5" within 3 months before I rehomed them.

I've found that they're pretty fast growers. I got 2 about 4-5 months ago when they were about 2 - 2 and a half inches long and they're now about 4 inches long. You probably won't notice it at first and then one day you'll look at them and think "b****y hell you're big!"

yes they grow quite quick in good conditions....i have four of these beautys in a 5ft/2ft/2ft and thats tight....around 10 or so inches<guestimated ofcourse>

you can see the size in this video link, wasnt focusing on them but they hog the lime light aswell

It depends on how your keeping them.

In good water and plenty of food i've seen them grow to 8" in as many months
I've also found 10" fish living in 24" tanks which is mad for these very active fish, which the owner said they was around 2 years old.

Hmmm guess I will just have to wait bit longer than. My girlfriend says they have grown but they look exactly the same to me. Could just be because I see them all the time so not really noticed. And I have 3 fully grown angels in the tank also so they look minute compared to them.

Agreed with helter, yes i know i have them in the 5ft but iam selling them to get a bigger home or they will go to bournemouth oceanarium...

My wife said for ages that she couldn't see the difference in my 2 whereas I could see that they were getting bigger. Just depends on the person I suppose. She can see how much they've grown now though.

I had the same thing with my clown loach, thought they weren't growing and my missus argued that they were. I never actually realised until A) I looked at old photo's and b) went back to the lfs where I got them from to see the ones they have now. They were literally just about an inch long when I got them (tails included) and they're three inches long now without tails
