Hi Guys,

One of my bala sharks jumped out of my tank, its about 20cm long, and I struggled to grab it, it slipped out of my hand a few times before I got a grip. Now the poor thing has eyes that are bulging out and are virtually totally white, I fear I may have permanently hurt the poor thing. Any ideas??

Thanks in advance!

I'm afraid there's not going to be an awful lot you can do, except make sure the water is in tip top condition and see how it gets on.

I didn't think fish had eyelids, but I swear the thing blinked at me and I saw a black (normal) eye for an instant?

Thanks for the help!

I don't know what could have caused the impression of a blink as, you're quite right, fish don't have eyelids. There are some fish (mostly plecs and loaches) that can roll their eyeballs up or down so they can look as if they're blinking, but that's not true of bala sharks.
