Hi all, would I get away with a small shoal of Bala's in my current set up of:

2 Albino Kribs
5 Gold Barbs
4 ottos
4 Cory's
1 Platy and 3 fry
1 Dalmation Molly

unfortunately I recently lost my RTBS, 1 gold barb and my other platy due too heater injuries, which has now been chaged so im doing a bit of chaninging of stock!!!

Please reply asap

many thanks

Stu

my apologies didnt realise sig was not meant too be on here!!

no the 20g is now in the garden, I have a 183 litre tank, 5 ft long.

Cheers

Stu

183 ltr 5 foot long dosen't sound right!!!!
sorry, not saying you are wrong but my 5 foot is 420ltrs.
What are the other dimensions, especially the depth of the tank as these sharks could, and do grow to 12"+ so need to be able to turn round. i have three in my tank which is 20 " deep and this seems to be enough space for them.

it is right trust me I have had this question before lol

cant remember off the top of my head but roughly (in inches)

60 long - 12 wide and 16 high??? I think thats prob horribly wrong, im at work at the moment, its defo 183 litres though, its not very deep (wide) unfortunately

The tank really needs to be at least 18" wide for bala's and prefferably 24" as they are pretty fast and very active

bugger!

im struggling too find the right fish for my tank now, I did want Angels but was informed they wouldnt get on with the Kribs and the tank is not really tall enough, so then contemplated the balas, now thats a no.......

hmmmm what next, was considering some rainbow fish but they dont really capture me and I dont wanna just go for any old fish.

Any thoughts?

have to agree. you would still get the biggish size you wanted from the bala's and these fish are stunning when you have a few as they are great shoaling fish.
