hello again people! rite, becsaue my search feature isnt working i must consult you again. when setting up a tank for the first time, do you set the tank up, add conditioned water or RO ( what is RO btw?) and then you can add live rock and live sand straight away? am i right in saying this is how you start your cycle> im just baffled into when and how you add live rock... sorry for being such a noob to some but i cant find information on it anywhere!

half way RO water (its best, if not a medium-heavy reef, conditioned is not as good, but RO is better always) add salt, let fully dissolve and achieve the correct S.G (aka specific gravity, an indirect way of testing for salinity) and add rock, mix seperately another batch of saltwater that matched the first, then top off if needed.

RO, to sum it up, is basically pure water. Like 95-99.9% water, no minerals, no metals, no chlorine etc.

RO stands for Reverse Osmosis.
