Bad Gravel? Need Help

I got a major problem here i had just bought this new gravel for a new tank i am getting ready to put up today and it's called florecent red and it's good for the plants in the aquaria and so it says pre washed on it but it also says to rinse it alittle so i started to and the water just turned dark redish brown and it's all over the tub and it's a pain to clean... is this normal for the gravel to be this dirty? and yet it says it was pre washed.. ehhh that dosn't sound right to me..

Did you rinse it with water and nothing else? Take one gravel and see if it's still red with no white spots, if it has some white, it mite be that it's losing color.

No it's not the color, cause i just rinsed one little rock and it stoped coloring water after 2 sec

Clean it for a little while and see if it's still doing that.

That stuff you're washing away is the neutrience your plants need.

Your kidding right? Thats gravel dust?? Not nutrients...

It should be just the dust that's causing your problems. The pellets contain the nutrients and you are washing some of it away but you have to wash the dust out or your tank will never clear up.

Well, then you're doing it wrong. Do it the way the old prospectors panned for gold. Instead, use a noodle drainer thing. Once your done rinsing it out. Put it into a ziplock back, and put it in your aquarium later.
