Hi,

Having some cycling problems in a 3wk old tank with fish in it. Nitrite levels are constantly through the roof. After doing 90% changes and getting it to 0, its back up again in the morning.

Been using stress zyme to try and get it working again but apparently thats crap.

Any way i can get bactinette in Scotland?

I will try and have a search for you but the only supplier i know of dont have outlets in Scotland. Your best option at this point is to go into your LFS and ask them if they have some mature media you can have or perhaps some gravel from an established tank, this will is better than nothing, but i will try and find somewhere is Scotland that stocks Bactinette.

Where in Scotland are you?

Edinburgh, thanks.

Sadly, bactinette aint the stuff that can be posted right? Because of chilling and stuff.

Your right, posting conventially would not really be an option. I was speaking with the LFS this morning and they were explain to me that their stock arrives in a big refrigerated truck and is well stored.

If there was a way to post next day in some sort of ice packed container you may have a chance, but i would have thought the odds were slim.

If you go here abd click in contact you can mail the suppliers and ask them if they stock in Edinburgh, i woul dhave thought there is somewhere that has it.

i would imagine you could post it to be honest. Just put it in a poly box (like you would with posting fish) and slap a couple of ice packs in with it. send it nextday and it should be fine. Although it will cost a fair bit i would think!

Why waste your money on Bactinettes when i can give you some mature filter media?

PM me and we can arrange to meet up. :good:

Theres quite a few members from London and the surrounding areas, Efren.

Have you tried looking here?

i might give it a shot-

in the other side thought i'm still keen of learning -
stuff like: fishless cycling - - it would make me proud.

maybe in the near future - - when i decided to
have a few more tanks - then for sure i'll bother them - -
