Hello everyone. I am almost 100% sure I have an out break of some bacterial disease. Some of the fish have white fluffy but on their fins and some on their mouth. I have eSHa 2000 and King British white spot control. Haven't ever had this happen so I am unsure on what to do. Any advice and guidence would be 100% appreciated.

I know your trying to help but, going through the noob stuff isn't any good :p I'v checked the stats and they are fine. I am defiantly not over stocked. To prove it ill post what you asked anyway.

Tank size: (WxDxH)39"x16"x16" - 164l or 43 US gallons
Stock: 5 Harlequins, 5 black neons and 4 bronze corys

Stats

pH: 6.6(low compare to normal usually 7.2)
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrites: 0ppm
Nitrates: 40ppm

However, this may have a link to what is going on! I am 100% sure my tank would win STOTM(Strangest Tank Of The Month), im sure some will agree!

The tank has been cycled for ages but about 2-3 weeks ago ammonia started going crazy in the tank. There was no explanation to as why this happened. Then my plants started growing like mad then suddenly died. Everything apart from the ammonia was fine. To keep on top of the ammonia I stopped feeding as often as I was. I also carried out water changes when needed.

Now this! How strange.

very strange its funny you say
you always had a steady pH and now
its dropped right of to 6.6 did you get
your ammonia spike was it after adding any fish
or anything like that i would up your temp to
80 to 81 and treat with the white spot treatment
you have got then keep an eye on the treat as it says
in the instructions

No the fish have been in the tank since i started cycling. I had to do a fishin cycle because of poor advice at pet store. Adding 40 drops of eSHa 2000 to the tank now, will add 20 tomorrow and another 20 Tuesday. If it gets worse ill do a 50% water change.

Fluffy bits on mouth and fins doesn't sound like Ich to me though.. And yes, very odd tank behaviour. Bacteria crash maybe??

Could it be fungus?? As cotton like growths are a symptom.

Its fin rot i think. Just very very odd tank and was wanting answerers!

Could be, are the growths actually "furry" or just not hard. If that makes sense.

And when it comes to nature, oddness is just how it goes sometimes. I'm afraid.

Yes, they are fluffy. I am 10000000000000% sure its fin rot. Started on their fins now. Treated and will carry on treating as needed.

Atleast it's identified then.

Good luck with the treatment, hope all your fish get back to full health.
