Bacterial blooms

Besides regular cleanings and cutting down on food, what can be done about the blooms?
I have reoccurring and sometimes persistent blooms. Thanks

How old is the tank?
Bacterial blooms are common in newer setups and often resolve themselves without intervention once the ecology balances itself.

What, if any, additives do you use for the water and plants? That could be a contributing factor.

Let's add one - food.

But some questions to maybe help.

Tank size?
Substrate?
Water change routine?
Species (and numbers) of fish?
Feeding frequency and foods?
Lighting, and relationship to windows?
Filtration?
Age of tank?
Recent changes?

There are lot of possibilities, but those might narrow it down. It's one of those issues that usually can be worked out easily.

Just dechlorinater and no live plants.
