I was thinking today about how quickly my ammonia dropped off during my cycling, from 5.5ppm to 0ppm in a matter of hours and it got me wondering. I'm using Nutrafin Cycle, but on the day the ammonia dropped off I had been messing about with my aquascaping, and had had my arm in the tank up to the armpit. (It's an Aquaone 620T). I was wondering though whether some of the bacteria from my under arm (the same bacteria that makes sweat smelly), could be strains of nitrifying bacteria?

Stranger things have happened! Perhaps I should bottle the stuff and sell it?

not sure about armpit juice, but peeing in your tank will really kickstart a tank!!

The human armpit, is the home of a diverse population of bacteria, mostly strains of Corynebacteria, E. coli and Staphylococcus
however no signs of nitrosomas or nitrabacter have been found, so no it wasn't your armpits

Maybe he took a shower in water with ammonia in it, and the nitrosomas & nitrabacter started to grow under his armpits? :hyper:

Oh well, there go my millions! Still it was a nice idea while it lasted... :p Hmmmm, biscuits.
