Backtotropical's Fry Tank

Thanks again for the comments everyone.

Wegus, I have not put anything under my tank. Its just the tank straight onto the stand. I know what you mean though. Juwel tanks are the same. I assume they know what they are doing. (or at least i hope so!)

As for the rails, mine went on ok. One seemed a bit loose to me, but once the light was fixed on, it seems fine.

Good luck with yours. :good:

Meds081603, i am hoping nothing will bring my tank crashing down the stairs, and if it does, after the trial  i will know not to be so damn stupid again.

:good:

Thats a lovely set-up you have :good: .. The molly fry are very cute.. You will have to put more pics up once you move the new fry in.. x

Howdy again, I decided i'd dunk the rails into some hot water to soften up the plastic. It worked... well kind of, they now "semi-sit" haha. Better than before tho. Anyway, thanks again!

Comments / opinions welcome as always.

How much did the tank cost you buddy?

It was a really good deal actually. Tank with stand, lights, filter and heater = £80 from Dobbies Garden Centre.

 thats awsome plantage! what are the inhabitants now?

At the moment theres about 70 Dalmation Molly fry.

I was going to ask you if you wanted some molly fry as I'm overstocked then I noticed this!!! My fry tank burst a couple of weeks ago so they're now in with the adults. How old are your fry? They look about the same size as my oldest ones which are around 6 months. They're mostly dalmations too, with a few silver ones. Funnily enough I was blaming my 3 year old for the water all over the floor, then I found the big crack in the bottom of the tank *blush*.

Gorgeous tank, puts mine to shame.

P.S Wasn't really going to ask you, not til I take care of what appears to be a slight problem.

Looks like I'm gonna get some GREAT IDEA'S!!!

Thanks guys! :good:

Is that Mushrooms plant on the top? I got mine a few days ago, but I have it planted, is that okay?

Hi DiscusLova,

The plant on the surface is Hydrocotyle Leucocephala. It is very undemanding and grows well in almost any conditions. It is happy as a floating plant or planted in the substrate.

Heres a tip for you. If you plant it horizontally (you'll see lots of sets of roots hanging down), each root will send a shoot to the surface. :good:
