Background?

When adding a background to the tank, if it is an off the roll one, do you attach it to the inside or the outside of the tank??

And I hear vaseline is the best thing to attach them with?? I am setting up a South American tank, what would the best background be? I don't want to use the rock background or the black ridged made by Juwel, I am thinking of either black or leaving it see through and really planting the back of tank heavily?

My preference is black. The plastic stuff that comes on a roll (it's something bright blue on the other side - so you could use either colour if you choose).

It goes on the outside of the tank

If it's a regular tank with the top and bottom plastic, it should fit in there between the plastic and glass if cut to size properly.
