Hi guys, I hope some of you remember me as i remember some of you guys
so for a while I have shifted to reptiles but my fish never left and I did lurk the forums from time to time but nothing much has happened
while I was gone I started breeding geckos and got a chameleon so Ive been busy

but today I have decided to clean the tank and measure my fish
last time I measured them was in febuary when I got them
so the gold sev used to be 3/4 inches and is now 2.5
the texas was 2/3 of an inch and is now 3.5 inches
Im very happy with the growth rates and I think it may be because of the high protien diet of mealworms and crickets with the usual flakes, bloodworms and pellets

so I will be posting pics tonight or in the morning
oh and in a few weeks time I will have a lot of pics of some fish in dominican

Both the Tex and Sev are fairly fast growing species, so it sounds like reasonable growth to me, however, I would get them onto a good pellett food as in the long run it provides them with a balanced diet and contains the nutrients that they need, not just for growth but for good health.

What size tank as they are in and are they in the same tank, Im asking because whilst they may be living peacefully together for now, once the Texas reaches 5" approx he could and most likely will turn and attack pretty much everything in the tank with him, they are aggressive species and it can be hard to find suitable tank mates for them that can withstand the aggression. The Severum certainly couldnt take it and Im speaking from experience here, so please if they are in the same tank, keep a close eye on them.

Looking forward to seeing the pictures :)
