I have loads of baby guppys they were born in April time and have grown quite steadily since.

I have noticed over the last two days that one of the females has started to get a bit bloated and looks as though she may be pregnant.

I know guppys are the fish equivalent to rabbits but surely this fish cannot be carrying babies already??

All of the fry are about half an inch in length and are really just starting to show colouring.

Advice would be appreciated, all water paramiters are fine.

By my count, she's at least 4 months old....and they can get pregnant at three months, so she could very well be pregnant. Are you sure she is pregnant though? And isn't constipated, or Bloated, or showing the first signs of dropsy? Though I have to say, her being pregnant is very likely.

Try to seperate other females from the males, though, because it's not very good to have brothers breeding with sisters. The females should have little gravid spots. And the ones you aren't sure about, leave with the males, as it's best to have a few females get pregnant, if they turn out to be girls, then have the whole female tank impregnanted, if it turns out to be a boy. :)

If you're into Livebearers, yes! :p

You could also see if your fish store wants any, to help cut down on numbers. Or try doing survival of the fittest. :)

I agree with Annastasia to the survival of the fittest option! I've now got fry here there and everywhere!

Survival of the fittest is what I do now, but when I started out with my guppies I got so excited at the idea of babies that I saved all of them, had no deaths, and ended up with 60+ guppies from a single batch from my 2 girls at the time. I took them to my LFS and got $80 in-store credit for the lot, so that would be a great option for you too!
