Hi all,

Basically as i was doing my water change today i was looking at the dirty water in the bucket and i saw tiny fish fry!!!!
Ahhh what do i do? I dont no what fish they are from? I have 1 male guppy, cherry barb, danios and hillstream loach, whos fry are they?
And shall i put them back in the tank? Or separate?

Almost certainly a danio fry; danios are one of the few fish that will breed in a community set up.

To raise them, you'd need to set up a proper growing out tank (doesn't have to be fancy; a large-ish plastic storage box would be perfect) but it will need a cycled filter and a heater.

Yhh just brought a 16l storage box from wilkinson, added a heater, u1 filter and media from main tank and one live plant, they are 2 tiny fry I'l see if i can get a pic later on.

you'll need to seed the new filter media, basically just get the filter media out of the new filter and cram it into the filter in your community setup for a while, then put it back into the filter in the fry tank. this will make sure that the filter in the fry tank is cycled. if you don't do this then the fry will almost certainly die, hope i make sense! :/

Here's a few pics of the suspected danio fry..

Only 2 fry in this tank, I think there must be more in the main tank, but I cant see them as they are soo tiny!

Babies! :hyper: :good:

If they are danios, they don't need the heater as they can easily deal with coldwater (indoors) and are sold as such.

Good luck!

How did you spot that thing?!

If I had fry I'd more then likely put a air-driven filter in a storage container as they seem safer for fry.
