hi last friday i noticed my appistogramma cacatuoides had small fry swimming out of the little cave they live in.
now 2 days ago i still noticed fry as they appeared out of the cave hole, but not seen any for 2 days now!
but the mother is till fiercely protecting the cave entrance, do you think all the fry have been eaten by other fish in the tank or are they just still in the cave out of sight?

Any news? Have you seen anything of them?

Fingers crossed for you mate! :good:

nothing mate, its been 4 days now nut shes still over protective so maybe im just being blind, but in previous cichlid reeding experience i have not gone this long without seeing fry, so im guessing they have been made dinner unfortunately :-(

Hope they are in that little cave hiding! But 4 days with out seeing any is quite a while .

On a positive, if they have made babies once I'm sure they will do it again! :D And maybe have more luck with those :).

They should be fine once you get them in the 60 litre. This is why its hard to raise fry in a community tank.
