yes ill prob try breed them later once there older,but im happy just watching them at the min.thats when they come out for a few seconds lol they prob just need to settle into there new home,they have diffrent parents so im told they are at all diffrent ages and sizes.im well happy with my buy.there just so diffrent to lovely

Hi CivicR. congrats on the lil ones. i've wanted a species tank of zebs for ages. £130 is a great price (depending on how much "and the rest" there was on top). i've seen them for £250-£300 each down this end of the country. keep us posted on their progress wont you.

An afterthought...why would he get flamed for spending a lot of $$$ w/out specific intentions of breeding? People don't think or blink twice about paying $$$$ for a wedding or just the dress, even though it's only for 1 day, these little ones will be around for years of fishy enjoyment!

I understand your reasoning but I still think you don't need a reason to treat yourself! (remember this is coming from a woman who has dropped $350 on a pair of shoes that will never breed but I still love them!)

A few facts and some mythbusting:

-Baby zebras hide a lot. Its a natural defence.

-

because they are extremely rare, and easy to breed, so there are many people out there breeding them to make them more available to us guys

-Zebras are far from easy to breed.

-They are close to being an endangered species and the export of them is now prohibited. If envisioned dams are build, their habitat could be destroyed. For this reason zebra afficionados prefer to see as many folks spwning them as possible. And no there are not a lot of people out there spawning them.

-

Not so, zebras leave relatively small spawns and the fry are not so simple to raise. There is no way to know what sex civicr's babies are nor any garantee they will make it to adulthood and if they do, that they will spawn. Zebra offspring should not be sold at a size of under and inch nor an age under six months and many will tell you bigger and older.

Zebras are an amazing looking fish and I knew I had to have them from the first time I saw a picture of one 6 + years back. They are even more striking live.

civicr- I see you are a member at zp.com- it is a great site with some very experienced zebra folks.

ill keep you guys posted of my baby zebs!!there all doing fine and appear to be a lil bigger than b4,and i do seem them a bit more aswell they do a lap every so often of the bog wood they live beside lol 2 of them are more shy than the other2 and dnt stray far from there space on the bogwood but i no were they all hide so asl ong as i see there still moving about im happy .camera shy little things!!i plan to try to breed them whne there older plus sorce a few more zebs hehe,and when i rear up babies they will repay there selfs i hope,thanks for all the comments
