Azoo Mignon 240

Hey guys,

I've got an azoo HOB filter. I read a thread last week which showed a pic of one persons set up with filter material.... unfortunately I cant find the darned link. I've searched for 30 mins and am going mad.

Anyways, what do you guys put into the chambers for filter material. I have a few options:

Eheim substrate pro, mech, karbon, sponge from my main tank. purigen... hmmmmm i think thats it.

The question is.. what have you guys got, where & why. Any recommendations would be good.

For now the hob will be used in my fry tank - 25 litre pfk aquacube. Currently home to quite a few swordtail fry.

ps. i know its not technically a planted tank question... but I know us plant guys use these more than the average joe

100% sponge, is there any point having the other types? IMHO no. They are all just expensive and pointless.

If you must have other types in there, for a planted tank, avoid carbon pads and ceramic disks. The carbon removes iron and other important elements. The ceramic things, as I understand it create anaerobic conditions which breaks down NO3 which also a bad thing in a planted tank.
