Azoo Mignon 150 On 8gal

Picked one up today as it was pretty cheap and I'm test running it on a 5gal with just water and it seems like a great wee filter but I get the feeling its not gonna be enough for my 8gal planted tank(quite heavily stocked).Do you think I should give it a go or get a larger version?I am currently using a duetto DJ 50 but I want a hang on one for more room in tank and safety for baby shrimps.

Have you considered an external such as the Eden 501 or Resun Cyclone 20 (I have one of these on order).

Can`t help you with HOB filters I`m afraid.

Dont know the filter but I have two of the smallest aqua one HOBs on a five gallon, I started with one and as the shrimp numbers grew I added another. Its easy to cover the inlet with a sponge cut to slip over the inlets. Its good for alternating cleaning and they take up little room.

I have this filter on a 10 gallon planted tank. I have had no sign of algae so far, and the tank has been running for several months now. It doesn't do the CO2 any favours though and there's a fairly slow current when the thing is crammed with media.
