Hi.

As you most of you know I have just stored away a 100l tank for when I'm less busy.
I've been researching some aquatic species that I might put in it one day and I thought an axolotl would be nice.
I'm just wondering if the tank water will get to the ambient temperature of the room too fast for me to counteract it with frozen bottles and fans.
Where I live it gets to 50 degrees celsius during summer and with only evaporative cooling, it doesn't get much cooler inside.
Lots of people in my area have axolotls and they are really easy to get but in saying that many people in my area get bettas and think they can live in a cup.

Thanks.

That is pretty warm. I would have thought just throwing ice in the tank would keep the temperature down. I think what I would do, is freeze down 2 liter ice cream containers of water and float them ( tip the ice out). Not sure that would work but I think that would be your best bet.

If your tank usually stays near 100F, cooling it long term would be a problem.. constant temperature changes are not good for fish long term. Unless you have air conditioning in the room that can keep the temp constant at about 65-70 which axelotis need , maybe its best not to keep them. Also most tropical fish need temps 75F to 80F or so to thrive— research online for best temp for each type of fish you might want.
