So the local fish stores have begun selling Blue Lobsters, for between $0-80 each.  Does anyone know anything about these?  Are they just crayfish?  Will they eat my fish?  What region are they from?  Probably not good with Corries & smaller Plecos right?

Petco had some especially bright blue ones for only $40 that they kept in a tank with Koi and larger Goldfish.

Opportunistic... yeah they'll eat your fish...

Why did you move my thread so quickly?  Now no one will see it............

I figured it would end up here eventually after a day or so ...............but seriously.

This is where it belongs.  I've only seen them online, but would love to keep some (in a species tank).  They are crawfish (or crayfish, depending on your locale).

I've seen them on liveaquaria (where your second pic is from) $45 for that specific variety.

Thanks guys, but seriously, no one will see the thread here unless they're specifically looking for it.  I was tryin' to reach the masses for a short while at least.

So in other words, I won't be getting any to add to my current tanks unless I hate my fish of course.  I thought they were Cray/Crawfish but I wasn't sure.

here is a site that has all the information about them. http://www.bluecrayfish.com/

i think they are south american
will eat your fish unless the fish is huge in compairison.
not good with cories/plecos

seen few in couple tanks ...seem to move fairly fast and able to "hunt" down fish
very cool coloring on them though

Thanks zoo, maybe a species specific 40 gallon breeder with 2 pair might work.  I;m in no rush but I want to take the plunge, eventually.  They look awesome and they're interesting to watch, like better armored shrimp or something.  Rocks and driftwood for decorations with a sand substrate and lots of caves.
